I also love art style at first I was disappointed about the shift in graphics because I thought NA kart rider looked just fine and there was no need to get so cartoony in Unreal Engine, but it is actually growing on me. I like knowing that I can get a whole lot better if I practice. It's a little intimidating tbh, but that's also part of what draws me to the game as well. I think the biggest thing is that the skill ceiling seems so high that it's crazy.
I don't really think it's too slow since I'm so new to the game and the level 3 maps (which I just started playing) have been pretty difficult for me. I really like how Drift seems to have better SBMM because in this game I can actually regularly finish races in speed mode lol. I played the OG NA KartRider briefly but always got my ass kicked every time and kind of gave up pretty fast.
